About Ben

I hold a BMUS in jazz performance, blue card and have taught in professional settings for over a decade. I'm currently employed as a piano instructor, ensemble conductor and choir accompanist at Cannon Hill Anglican College and Griffith Conservatory for Music.

About the lesson

Whether you're new to piano or an experienced player looking to expand your existing knowledge, I use a number of methods and resources to help my students achieve their goals.

Students of all ages and backgrounds are welcome. I teach face to face and utilise a multi-camera feed for online lessons for students living interstate, or wishing to cut down on commute times!

I am able to deliver lessons on the following:

- AMEB / Rockschool / ABRSM exams
- Improvisation (jazz, blues, rock, pop)
- Sight-reading
- Accompaniment skills
- Foundational technique
- Aural and theory training
- Songwriting

Ben is an experienced and qualified teacher who has taught me for the past 3 years. He has a very clear and formulaic approach to teaching but is also flexible and able to deviate from a lesson plan when I wish to investigate an idea or topic further. Highly recommend.

We started by learning some of my favourite classical pieces and we are now are exploring the world of jazz improvisation.

His knowledge and teaching methods are extremely professional and he is a very attentive teacher.
