About Georgia
I am a Psychology PhD Candidate at the University of California, Irvine, specialising in developmental psychology and psychology and law. I also hold an MA in Psychological Science from UC Irvine and a First-Class BA in Psychological and Behavioural Sciences from the University of Cambridge. Before university, I achieved A*s at A Level in Psychology, Law, Sociology, and English Literature.
I am a published psychology researcher and have several years of university teaching and mentoring experience. At UC Irvine, I have completed 15 Teaching Assistant appointments across undergraduate and postgraduate courses and have also taught as an Instructor of Record. Some examples of the subjects I have taught include introductory psychology, child development, infancy, social psychology, criminology, research methods, and legal and forensic psychology.
Teaching and mentoring are parts of academic life that I particularly enjoy. I have worked with students with a wide range of backgrounds, goals, and levels of confidence, both in the classroom and one-to-one. I especially enjoy finding different ways to explain difficult ideas and seeing students become more confident in their own understanding.
I am originally from the UK and am currently based here while completing the writing-up stage of my PhD remotely. Outside of my own research, I enjoy supporting students with their academic development and helping them work towards whatever comes next, whether that is an exam, an essay, university, or postgraduate study.

I take a personalised approach to tutoring and tailor lessons to each student's goals, level, and learning style. Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, preparing for exams, working on an essay, or looking to strengthen your overall understanding of Psychology, we can shape sessions around what you need. There is no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you need help with. We can work that out together.
I particularly enjoy helping students break down difficult concepts and understand the reasoning behind them, rather than simply memorising material. Depending on your goals, lessons might involve working through course content, applying concepts to examples, practice questions, essay planning, research methods and statistics, exam preparation, or developing study strategies. I am always happy to explain something in a different way and adapt my approach until we find what works best for you.
Lessons are online and typically 60 to 120 minutes, depending on your preferences and what you would like to work on. I offer Psychology tutoring from GCSE and A Level through to university level, and can also provide support with research methods, statistics, essay and academic writing, and study skills.
I also offer university and postgraduate application support, including personal statements and application essays, interview preparation, CVs, and research proposals. You can find more information about this in my separate application-support listing.
Most importantly, tutoring should be a supportive space where you feel comfortable asking questions and saying when something does not make sense. Pursuing your education takes a lot of work, and looking for some extra support along the way is something to feel positive about. My aim is to meet you where you are and help you build both your understanding and your confidence from there.
