Eliza is a highly professional and engaging Latin tutor who plans and adapts lessons in line with requested learning goals. I had particular requirements to relate beginner’s Latin with English vocabulary and grammar to help with 11+ preparation and Eliza fulfilled the brief consummately ! She is also acutely aware of safeguarding/ how to tackle sensitive material around contentious historical topics too and ensures that parent - tutor communication is always centred. I’m an adult who has always been interested in learning Latin but had no opportunity to learn it when I was a student. I needed to start with the very basics - I knew nothing. My lessons with Eliza have been brilliant! We are using a textbook designed for children (because it introduces the basics so well) but Eliza is mindful that I’m an adult learner so I never feel silly. She clearly loves her subject and is keen to add in extra info to keep the lessons interesting for me.
