About Yolanda
Singing is actually easier when you stop thinking about hitting the perfect note every time. My lessons rely on the foundation of my BA in Music to teach pitch control and rhythm.
We work on range extension and phrasing to make your songs sound professional. Performance confidence is something we build slowly through practice and patience. I provide free access to my breathing and warm-up exercise notes for you to use at home.
I enjoy seeing the moment a student stops worrying and starts just enjoying the music. It is a blast to watch that transformation happen.

The smell of old sheet music and worn guitar strings is what greets you when you walk into my room. I have been teaching for 13 years and have guided 414 students through the basics of melody. My 13 years performing chanson francaise and Quebecois folk informs every note I teach.
I hold a BA in Music and focus on head and chest voice, harmony, and vibrato control. Sometimes I keep things very simple. I balance technical exercises with a real sense of fun. You will find that I keep the pressure low and the focus high.
