About Norma
Patience defines my teaching character when working with students who want to turn song requests into simplified arrangements. Having taught 237 people over 5 years, I understand that the process of mastering the guitar is a long road.
My personal narrative as an independent artist helps me connect with those learning electric technique for the first time. I often work with people who need help with strumming patterns or reading tabs to get started.
While I have a 9.0 rating, I prefer to focus on the human side of making music with my students. I spent many years figuring out how to play by ear before I learned the academic side of things.
It feels great to share those lessons with others as we work through lead guitar or grade exam prep. Reading sheet music can be a chore, but I make it feel like a puzzle worth solving. My own journey informs every tip I give to a new player.

Steady pacing and constant feedback are the cornerstones of my classroom. You play, I listen. We adjust your finger placement until the chords ring out cleanly and clearly. My 10 years of experience as a self taught producer allows me to show you how guitar parts sit inside a mix.
I take your song requests and break them down into manageable pieces that fit your current skill level. Beginners and intermediate players often find that breaking down a track into small, rhythmic sections makes the whole song easier to digest.
We move as fast or as slow as you need to feel comfortable. Grade exam prep requires extra attention to detail, so we take our time with the theory. It is a genuine pleasure to hear you finally nail a difficult transition that we have been working on for weeks. Music is meant to be fun, so we keep the mood light and the frustration low.
