About Ava
Honestly, I enjoy the messy parts of language acquisition more than the perfect grammar drills. My sessions for ESL learners focus on everyday conversation and effective presentation skills.
I use my CELTA background to simplify idioms and expressions for adult learners. You will participate in mock speaking exams with feedback to sharpen your TOEFL performance.
We will practice letter writing and grammar together. The sessions are fast and direct. I prioritize real world utility over theory.
I genuinely love watching students finally grasp a difficult concept. It makes the hard work worthwhile.

Do you ever feel that learning a new language is less about rules and more about finding your own voice? My own path to becoming a bilingual coach began with an MA from McGill and a CELTA qualification. Having spent 13 years teaching ESL across Canada, I now focus on helping immigrants and business travelers thrive.
I teach everything from email writing and phrasal verbs to complex grammar foundations. With 339 students taught, I understand the unique challenges you face. I am eager to help you reach that next milestone in your personal or professional life.
