About PRIYASHRAVA

Certified Carnatic Student & Performer (Classical & Western) w/ 18 Years of Experience (till date)

I am a Kalai Kaviri College of Fine Arts & Bridge Academy Certified Grade 5 Carnatic Singer & Performer (Classical & Western) , Started Learining since the age of 5 from 2006 uptill 2018-19 (Last Certification Year) & since then onwards I have being teaching and providing personalised classes and batch classes for students from India and the GCC Region, therefore totalling upto 18 years of experience...

My experience with Carnatic music has being a really unique journey of harships, intense practice and exposure new realities and opportunities ahead of me such as right now teaching whilst also performing unders small private venues to people who are begenning to gain interest in this field of music for the first time; therefore allowing me to relate easily and plan accordingly for a worthwile experience.

In the sense of being a Guru; It's my responsibility to guide you and show you the path that allows you to move on forwards whilst also allowing you to learn and go through a lot of trial-&-error in the process of discovering your unique niche and style based on which you can cement yourselves and construct upwards & onwards in your musical journey

About the lesson

The Initial classes and sessions you will engage in (either be it online or offline) will mostly involve in trying to find your sweet learning spot and curve in understanding the initial basics / setting your preffered sruthi, posture, pitch range etcetera from then point onwards allowing for a more personalised learning experience. (since every person learns or experiences music differently and uniquely)

My Lessons and Instructional Pathway is oriented towards mindfullness and understanding of the meaning and basic concepts behind many questions and reasons of what makes Carnatic Music (though similar to European Doh-Ray-Me-Fah-Soh-Lah-Te / Si-Doh) different & unique yet similar and familiar from all of the other classical vocal music styles around the world.

Learning from a really young age ( Reccomended From 5 Years of Age but depends upon the children and thier acceptance of the guru to instruct them, best done offline) allows them to fine tune and expand thier vocal range and pitch therefore allowing for flexible singing styles and also development of innate music knowledge and experience allowing them to then choose thier musical pathway from a really young age (Parental Intervention & Participation is also reccomended).

But that does not mean that you joined late as an adult or teenager or any other age-range so that you could not sing! Carnatic Music is progressive, understandable and fine-tune in nature therefore everyonehas thier own unique style of learning, progressing and also singing; therefore you are not late (you are just right on time to begin)

With my learning experience from the age of 5 upto my final certification of Grade 5 in 2018-19; I can understand the pain and hardships of being slow in understanding. But that's alright even if you can grasp concepts or pickup pieces a lot faster than the others or slower than the bunch. Everyone has a place and chance in Classical South Indian Music at thier own pace and level & I can faciliitate that smooth processes through personalised or batch classes (maximum 4-5 students per batch)

The Classes are held in Tamil, Hindi & English mixed with each other based on student preferences. Students will also be taught playback singing (dubbed singing on films) performance singing, (i.e., performing on stages or "Arangetrams"). Learning Materials will be distributed through PDF (for online classes and offline classes) and physical print copies (for offline classes exclusively)

There is no clear lesson plan or structure as already explained everyone's learning experience is different from each other therefore the plans and structure are bound to change a lot untill the student has reached a certain point where they can recognize thier own comfort level in learning and have talks with thier guru on how they would like to proceed further in learning music.
