About Roberta

I am passionate about working with people to achieve their dreams. One of the reasons I started a career in psychology is because I love helping people. It can be tough breaking into the psychology industry. So as well as tutoring I can share real-life experience/offer advice for people who are unsure about their career path. I have almost a decade of experience working in psychology. I have worked in prisons, care homes, children's homes, addiction treatment centers and NHS services. As a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, I specialize in treating addiction and trauma. I have also worked with many people who have additional needs, autism spectrum conditions and ADHD. Outside of work, my passions include hiking, yoga, skiing & baking. I love learning new things, so I often find myself immersed in a history/science podcast or documentary!

About the lesson

I offer a personalized approach to teaching, ensuring you learn in the way that you find most comfortable. Learning should be fun and motivating. There is no such thing as a silly question! Psychology is a fascinating subject, but it can be a challenging one too! Sometimes we all need a little boost to help us reach our potential. Whatever you are stuck on (be it research skills, academic writing, remembering names/dates of studies or a particular theory you can't get your head around), I have the skills and resources to work with you as a team to overcome the sticking points and get back to enjoying psychology! I have several years experience delivering psychology training to healthcare workers from a variety of backgrounds. I also have several years' experience delivering psycho-education to young people. Lessons can be delivered to any level/age and are typically 60 minutes long, but this can be adapted depending on your needs and preference.

We had several lessons together while Stella finished the end of her psychology degree. We focused on exam prep/revision and essay writing skills. I thoroughly enjoyed our lessons together. Stella is a great student, always willing to share ideas and put the work in. It was lovely to hear about the progress she’d made since starting our lessons. I wish Stella all the best for the future and would be more than happy to work with her again!
