About Anna

Hello! My name is Anna, and I am a Certified Alberta Teacher with over 42 years of teaching experience and more than 10 years of private tutoring experience.

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Modern Languages from McGill University and a Master of Education. Originally from Montreal, I have a strong background in both English and French and have taught students in both Montreal and Alberta throughout my career.

My teaching experience includes regular classroom instruction, a closed special education classroom, ESL, adapted and modified programs, gifted education, and French as a Second Language (FSL). In Calgary, I taught Grades 4 to 6 as both a homeroom teacher and an FSL teacher, providing French instruction to approximately 250 students.

Over the years, I have helped students improve their French language skills, succeed in French Immersion and FSL programs, and prepare for the DELF examinations. I understand the Alberta curriculum and tailor each lesson to the individual student's needs, whether they require extra support, enrichment, or exam preparation.

I continue to use current, student-centered teaching strategies that make learning engaging, practical, and enjoyable. My goal is to help every student develop confidence, improve communication skills, and achieve lasting success in French.

About the lesson

Learning French should be enjoyable, engaging, and confidence-building. My goal is to help students develop strong speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills while making learning meaningful and enjoyable.

Every lesson is personalized to meet each student's individual needs, learning style, and goals. I begin by identifying strengths and areas for improvement, then create lessons that incorporate conversation, vocabulary development, grammar, reading, writing, pronunciation, and practical language activities.

I provide support for students enrolled in French Immersion and French as a Second Language (FSL) programs, helping them strengthen classroom skills, complete assignments, prepare for tests, and build confidence using the French language.

I am also familiar with the **DELF (Diplôme d'Études en Langue Française)** examinations and have successfully tutored students preparing for the DELF. Lessons focus on developing the communication and language skills required for success in both the classroom and DELF assessments.

My teaching approach is patient, supportive, and encouraging. I believe students learn best when they feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating their progress. Every lesson is designed to help students become confident, independent French learners.
