My teaching methods include teacher-guided modeling, student-led practice, and then independent practice with corrective feedback.
A typical lesson would start by introducing a reading standard or skill. Student will receive direct instruction in new vocabulary. We will read a text and analyze it, concentrating on the focus skill of the lesson. Student will then answer text based questions using evidence from the passage.
These lessons are for students in grades 4 - 12.
As a tutor, I bring my many years of classroom experience, my patience as a mother, and my love of words.
