  • Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

My interest in French began with my very first teacher. She was gentle, reassuring, and made the learning process feel approachable rather than intimidating. That experience showed me how deeply a good teacher can shape a student’s relationship with a subject. It helped me realise that enjoying a language often depends on how it is taught.

Alongside this, my love for reading played a major role. Through literature, I became fascinated by French vocabulary that appears in English novels and texts. This curiosity gradually led me deeper into the language itself. Over time, this interest turned into long-term learning, and today I still am continuing my french studies at the level C1. French has remained a subject I continue to explore with curiosity and commitment.
  • What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach, and why?

My motivation to teach comes from the impact my own teacher had on me. Experiencing how encouragement and clarity can transform learning (and the opposite can be very discouraging to learners) made me want to offer the same experience to others.

What truly motivates me is watching students understand a concept, gain confidence, and start engaging with the language more actively. I consider it a success when a student becomes curious ; when they ask questions beyond the syllabus or begin to enjoy the learning process. That moment of connection with the language is what drives me as a teacher.
  • How does your work help society?

Language learning opens doors to communication, cultural understanding, and broader perspectives. By teaching French, I help students build confidence, analytical thinking, and openness to other cultures. It has benefits far beyond one may think , language learning increases critical thinking in people and encourages neuroplasticity.

I aim to make language learning less intimidating and more accessible than it often feels in traditional classroom settings. When students feel supported rather than pressured, they are more likely to develop long-term skills and curiosity, which benefits both their personal growth and their ability to engage with the world around them.
  • If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of and why?

My role model is my first French teacher. Her calm, patient, and reassuring approach left a lasting impression on me. She showed me that teaching is not just about delivering content, but about creating a safe environment where students feel comfortable making mistakes and learning from them.

That philosophy strongly influences my own teaching style today.
  • Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

Outside teaching, I enjoy reading, especially literature. Books were an important part of my journey into French, and they continue to shape my appreciation for language, vocabulary, and expression. Reading allows me to constantly reconnect with the beauty of language and brings fresh perspectives that I often carry into my lessons. Other hobby is running , other than the health benefits , running has taught me perseverance , resilience and patience.
  • Do you have an anecdote from your student or professional life?

One of the most rewarding moments for me is when a student notices something in the language that even I hadn’t consciously reflected on before. I genuinely enjoy it when students question, analyse, or even correct me thoughtfully ; it shows engagement and confidence.

For me, teaching is a two-way learning process. When students become curious and actively participate, it confirms that they are not just memorising French, but truly understanding and connecting with it.
