About Chandler

I studied abroad in Nice, France for three months in 2023, where I perfected my accent in both Academic and Real-World settings. Tested at EF Language School, I earned a C1 in Oral French, as I used my time well to immerse myself in the language. I earned a B2 in Written French, which was about expected.

I loved my time in the Côte d'Azur, and as a second-year French Major at Santa Clara University, and if I may brag, I stand out among my peers with the best non-native accent in the room. My current Major GPA is 3.650 in Upper Division French, and I've been actively learning French since Middle School.

About the lesson

Our lessons will be slow and conversational. I will first identify your weaknesses, and share resources and tips I have picked up over my 8 years of French experience to further your understanding and skill. Phonetics are learned habits that stay engrained in you for a long time, and it is very easy to be stuck in an American-sounding rut.

My class is intended for students at a B2 (~4 on the AP French exam) or lower, who intend to travel to a Francophone country within a year of our first lesson. Obviously, the more written French you know, the easier it should be to learn these skills, but good pronunciation can be picked up on at any skill level!
