About Andrea
I’m a certified Math and Special Education teacher with over 15 years of experience helping students build confidence, strengthen foundational skills, and discover the joy in learning. In my most recent role as Assistant Principal, I supported teachers in using research-based strategies to improve student outcomes, experience that now informs my one-on-one tutoring approach. I believe every student can succeed when instruction is personalized, engaging, and grounded in understanding rather than memorization. My sessions are designed to meet students where they are, using clear explanations, visual supports, and step-by-step problem-solving to make math accessible and meaningful. Students and families describe my teaching as patient, structured, and encouraging. I’m committed to helping each learner develop both skill and self-belief — because confidence is just as important as content.

As a certified Math and Special Education teacher with over 15 years of classroom and leadership experience, I take a personalized, student-centered approach to tutoring. I begin by assessing each learner’s current strengths, areas for growth, and learning style. From there, I design targeted lessons that build foundational skills while also developing problem-solving strategies and confidence.
A typical session begins with a brief check-in and review of previously learned material to reinforce retention. We then move into a focused mini-lesson with guided practice, using visuals, manipulatives, or real-life examples to make math concepts meaningful and concrete. Each lesson ends with a short reflection or goal-setting activity so students can track their own progress and celebrate growth.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect academic instruction with executive functioning and mindset coaching. I help students learn how to organize their work, manage time effectively, and approach challenges with persistence and optimism.
My lessons are ideal for elementary and middle school students, including those who benefit from individualized support, differentiated instruction, or multisensory learning strategies. I also specialize in helping students who struggle with math anxiety or learning differences discover that they can be successful, confident math thinkers.
