About Irene

¡Hola! I’m Irene — a qualified teacher with a background in Journalism, Marketing, and Communications. After years working with young people through organisations like the Scouts Association, I discovered my true calling: teaching. I retrained in the UK as a secondary school teacher and now specialise in Spanish language education. I'm passionate about helping children (and adults!) see how learning Spanish can open doors—whether for travel, careers, or making meaningful global connections. Through my lessons, I bring the language to life with real-world context, cultural insights, and lots of encouragement. About the lesson

My teaching methodology is grounded in the belief that humans learn best by doing. I aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice by incorporating real-life contexts into every lesson. This approach not only increases engagement but also ensures that students gain meaningful, hands-on experience that deepens understanding and supports long-term retention. Key principles of my methodology include: Experiential Learning: Lessons are designed around practical activities, experiments, role-play, simulations, and real-world problem-solving. Contextual Relevance: Learning is tied to real-life situations, making it immediately applicable and relatable to students. Student-Centred Approach: Learners are active participants, encouraged to explore, create, and reflect on their experiences. Reflective Practice: Activities include opportunities for feedback, discussion, and self-assessment to reinforce learning outcomes. By making learning active, relevant, and engaging, I strive to develop critical thinking, creativity, and practical skills that students can carry confidently into the real world. Lessons typically last 45min and can be tailored to students from Primary to A-level.
