About Sophie

I am a dedicated Singing tutor with 7 years of experience teaching High School and College students. During this time, I have taught over 250 students, helping them develop strong vocal techniques, performance confidence, and a deep appreciation for music. My teaching philosophy is centred around encouragement, adaptability, and personalised learning, ensuring that every lesson meets the student’s unique goals and interests.

I focus on vocal exercises, pitch control, breathing techniques, tone development, and stage performance, allowing students to grow both technically and artistically. I also help students prepare for performances, competitions, and college auditions, many of whom have achieved remarkable success.

I aim to create a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel confident exploring their voice and expressing themselves creatively. Alongside singing, I provide guidance in music theory, ear training, and musical interpretation, offering a well-rounded approach to vocal education.

My goal is to nurture talent, inspire confidence, and make singing a joyful experience. I believe every student has a unique voice and potential, and my lessons are designed to unlock that potential while building skills, discipline, and passion for music.

About the lesson

I take a personalised approach to teaching singing, focusing on each student’s learning style and unique abilities. I adapt lessons to suit how students learn best, whether through listening, practising with visual aids, or hands-on exercises.

Creativity is encouraged in every lesson—students explore their voice, experiment with musical styles, and develop their own artistic expression. Using diplomacy, I provide feedback in a constructive and respectful manner, creating a safe and motivating learning environment.

My teaching goes beyond singing alone. I include music theory, rhythm practice, sight-reading, ear training, diction, vocal health, and performance skills to support comprehensive growth. Students also develop confidence in stage presence, expression, and interpretation of lyrics. By blending technical skill with artistry, I help students convey emotion and connect with their audience.
