About Ruby
My interest in chess began when I discovered how a simple set of rules could create endless strategic possibilities. This fascination inspired years of study and eventually led me to complete a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology followed by a Master of Arts in Cognitive Studies. During my 9 years of teaching experience, I have worked with students of various ages and skill levels, helping them develop stronger thinking skills through structured chess instruction. Teaching allows me to combine my passion for strategy with my commitment to education.
I believe that every student can improve significantly when given clear guidance and consistent encouragement. My teaching style emphasizes understanding key concepts, analyzing decisions, and learning from mistakes. Through game reviews, tactical exercises, and practical discussions, I help students develop both confidence and independent thinking. I strive to create lessons that are challenging, engaging, and enjoyable.
Outside teaching, I enjoy studying classic games, following international tournaments, and exploring new training methods. These activities help me bring fresh insights into every lesson. Watching students improve their skills and discover greater enjoyment in chess is one of the most rewarding aspects of my work. I am dedicated to helping learners grow both as players and as thinkers.

My chess lessons focus on helping students understand the ideas behind strong moves rather than simply memorizing openings. I teach strategic planning, tactical patterns, piece coordination, endgame technique, positional evaluation, calculation methods, and practical decision-making. Students learn how to recognize opportunities, anticipate threats, and build effective plans throughout a game. Every lesson encourages active thinking and helps learners develop confidence in their own analysis. By focusing on understanding rather than memorization, students become more adaptable and capable players.
Lessons are adjusted to each student's experience level and personal goals. Beginners learn piece movement, basic checkmating patterns, opening principles, and tactical awareness. Intermediate players strengthen calculation skills, positional understanding, and game analysis. Advanced learners work on tournament preparation, complex strategic concepts, endgame mastery, and advanced tactical combinations. Regular practice games, puzzle solving, and guided reviews help students identify strengths and areas for improvement while steadily building confidence.
Chess develops valuable skills that extend beyond the board. Students improve concentration, patience, planning, and logical thinking while learning how to make decisions under pressure. My goal is to help learners become thoughtful and confident players who enjoy the challenge and creativity that chess offers. Every lesson supports both competitive growth and personal development.
