About Zoe

Zoe Schramm is a professional clarinetist and private woodwind teacher based in Pasadena, CA. Zoe has collaborated with the Utah Symphony, members of the Berlin Philharmonic, The Beach Boys, Bob Weir & Wolf Bros, and Idina Menzel. She has also performed in Chicago the Musical in Concert. Zoe has performed at Abravanel Hall, Jordan Hall, and Walt Disney Concert Hall, as well as internationally in Austria, Bermuda, Germany, France, and Monaco.

With over eight years of teaching experience, Zoe has taught in public schools, summer programs, and private studios. Her lessons are structured with flexibility to support each student’s individual goals. Zoe’s students have earned placements in competitive regional and state ensembles and received superior ratings at Solo and Ensemble Competitions.

Zoe recently completed her Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance at the New England Conservatory of Music. She graduated from Stanford University in 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree, earning a dual concentration in Clarinet Performance and Historical Musicology and a minor in German.

About the lesson

I believe every student has the potential to become a confident, expressive, and independent musician. My teaching approach combines strong musical fundamentals while always encouraging curiosity, creativity, and a love of music.

Because every student has unique goals and learning styles, I tailor lessons to their individual needs. Whether a student is learning their first notes, preparing for an audition, or pursuing music at an advanced level, I provide a supportive and structured environment that encourages growth.

Lessons focus on tone, technique, musical expression, repertoire, and effective practice strategies while developing valuable life skills such as discipline, perseverance, problem-solving, time management, and self-confidence. I encourage students to take ownership of their learning and build the independence to make meaningful progress both inside and outside the practice room.

My goal is not only to help students become musicians, but also to foster thoughtful, resilient, and lifelong learners.

Perfect! Zoe is radiantly upbeat and encouraging. I was starting over after no playing for nearly 50 years, and within a few weeks she had me happily making music again. We work on musicality as well as technique. Couldn't be more pleased and satisfied!

Travel Fees: In-home lessons are available at select locations and require an additional travel fee. Please contact me with your location to inquire about the applicable travel rate.

All lessons are pre-paid.

Lessons are to be paid for when they are scheduled. If a lesson has not been paid for, it is not scheduled, or confirmed.

Payment schedules include:
- 5 Lesson Package (at a 5% discounted rate), to be paid when the first lesson is scheduled.
- 10 Lesson Package (at a 10% discounted rate), to be paid when the first lesson is scheduled.
- Individual lesson, to be paid when the lesson is scheduled.

I do not offer refunds for any reason.
