About Angela
I am currently a violin performance major at Purchase Conservatory of Music. I started the violin at 8 years old, and began taking lessons privately around age 12. I've experienced summer programs such as Crane Youth Music, Eastern US Music Camp, and NYSSSA School of Orchestral Studies, ranging from two weeks to a month in length. Through school, I have attended All-County Orchestra, Area All-State Orchestra, and NYSSMA All-State Orchestra. I was concertmaster of All-County and Area All-State Orchestras in 2017. Also, i have participated in New Paltz Youth Orchestra and SUNY Orange Orchestra. Furthermore, I recently attended Meadowmount School of Music in the summer of 2019 and worked with some of the most prestigious musicians across the globe. Currently, I study with Carmit Zori, a previous student of the infamous Galamian, graduate of Curtis Institute of Music, and professional chamber musician.

Because of the pandemic, I currently teach on Skype. This can be quite difficult for beginners, but I want to keep us both safe so for now this is best. For beginners, I focus on learning notes and rhythms, but I find technique and how the instrument is held is very important because bad habits are hard to get rid of in the future. For intermediate, solo works and scales, etudes, and double stop books are my best approach. For advanced, musicality and phrasing are the way to go.

Angela is talented, understanding, patient, and a good teacher overall. She makes learning the violin easy and fun.
