About Evangelia

I am a private piano instructor, performer, and composer who has been playing and composing since I was 7 years old. Playing the piano is a multifaceted skill-set. Having a classically trained background, I understand that classical music is the foundation for much of the contemporary music we enjoy today. So, I integrate music history and music theory into my teaching to demonstrate it.

I began teaching privately in 2008 as a college student. I have a passion for instruction and sharing the gift of self-expression through music. I have worked for several music schools, including a conservatory in Tampa that focused only on the piano. I currently have independent students in the area and have some openings for more come 2022.

Throughout my experience, I have worked with gifted children, children with special needs, and individuals of all ages who demonstrated a love and motivation for expressing themselves through music.

My students and I set feasible goals weekly, monthly, and yearly for measurable growth. Per my schedule, I am flexible and available on weekends as well as most afternoons during the week. I can travel to your home or open my home to you.

When I am not teaching, I enjoy performing at country clubs and hotels around the Tampa Bay area such as the Belleair Country Club, Hunters Green, Avila, and the Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is collaborative and adaptable. I guide my students in their exploration of finding their voice through music. I encourage and support them and implement a structure that is catered to their unique learning needs, so that they can thrive.

Music is a language and it is one that we all have the ability to speak. For me, teaching music is not only about developing reading ability. Playing music is about learning how to find your own voice, to connect, to feel, and to express. Learning music should be fun and also calls the learner to increase their self-awareness, self-discipline, and self-confidence.

Playing music is one of the most inherently rewarding experiences that human beings can engage in, and I take that seriously. You will have the skills that you acquire and the passion that I strive to ignite in you for the rest of your life. Making music matters, and there is music that you never hear until you make it yourself.

Details

My rates are somewhat flexible. If you come to my home I may offer a deal. If I go to you and drive over 30 minutes to get there, I must charge a bit extra for time and fuel. My 30 minute rate is $45, my 45 minute rate is $50 and my hourly base is $60. If it is web based, I will take an additional 5-10$ off the price.
