About Helene
My name is Hélène and I'm currently finishing up my undergraduate degree in Cognitive Science at SFU. I worked for 4 years as an Education Assistant at a local high school, where I discovered how much I love teaching. In my opinion, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a student grow in confidence and knowledge!

As someone who once struggled with math and science, I understand how frustrating these subjects can feel. This experience has shaped my teaching approach and reinforces the importance of patience, clarity, and encouragement. I begin each lesson by inviting students to demonstrate what they already know, allowing me to assess their understanding and identify specific gaps. From there, I provide targeted support to strengthen foundational concepts, build confidence, and develop problem-solving skills. My goal is not only to improve academic performance, but also to help students feel more capable and comfortable engaging with challenging material.
