About Karla
Karla currently teaches in Nashville, TN. She is a former art department chair where she created and lead the curriculum of a year long 12-credit area in the foundations of art. She specializes in drawing, color theory and two-dimensional design.
Karla holds an M.F.A. from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY in painting and drawing. She has participated in group exhibitions at the New Museum's IDEAS CITY Festival, the Dumbo Arts Festival, the Schuylkill Center for Environmental Art in Philadelphia, PA , Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, NY, Lafayette College, PA, University of Massachusetts, MA, ED. Varie, NY and more.
Karla has received grants from the University of Massachusetts Arts Council and the University of Massachusetts Art and Art History Department. Karla is formerly the Director of Development at the Hunterdon Museum of Art, Clinton, NJ and the Gallery Director for the Student Union Art Gallery at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA.
