About Kaitlyn
I am a committed violin tutor with 4 years of experience teaching students of all levels. I have successfully guided around 135 students, helping them build accurate technique and steady musical confidence. My teaching philosophy is centered on steadiness, patience, and encouragement, ensuring every student receives guidance matched to their pace and comfort level. I focus on bow technique, intonation, and posture through organized, steady practice, celebrating small wins to keep students motivated. My teaching method for Violin, Music Theory, and Ear Training reflects four years of helping students build accurate technique through steady, patient coaching focused on real progress.
Steadiness shapes how I approach every lesson, since I keep a consistent practice structure so students always know what to expect and can track their own growth.
Patience is central to my teaching, since bowing control and intonation take real time to develop, so I never rush a student ahead before they feel ready.
Encouragement stays present throughout, since recognizing small improvements keeps students motivated through the more demanding stages of technical growth.
Lessons begin with posture, bow hold, and finger positioning, followed by scales and simple melodies to build muscle memory, along with early music theory basics like rhythm and note reading.
As students advance, I add intonation refinement, tone quality work, and ear training to sharpen pitch sense, along with basic performance preparation for interested students.
I adjust my teaching to match each student's personal goals, whether playing casually or working toward more advanced study. My aim is a steady, patient space where every violin student grows steadily.
