About Riley
With 8 years of dedicated teaching experience, I have guided around 150 students in learning the Saxophone across all levels. I enjoy working with beginners who are starting their musical journey as well as advanced students who want to refine their skills.
My teaching style is structured yet flexible. I begin with strong fundamentals such as posture, breathing techniques, tone quality, scales, and rhythm exercises. Once the basics are clear, I gradually introduce music theory, sight-reading, improvisation, and performance techniques. I always adapt my lessons according to the student’s pace and goals.
Communication plays a key role in my classes. I make complex concepts simple and easy to understand. I use practical examples and real performance situations to help students connect theory with practice. I also encourage creativity and self-expression through improvisation exercises.
My unique strength is patience and personal attention. I carefully observe each student’s progress and provide constructive feedback. I also help students prepare for school performances, competitions, and exams. My aim is to build strong technical skills along with confidence and love for music.

My teaching methodology for Saxophone focuses on building a strong foundation while nurturing creativity and responsibility. I believe that understanding fundamentals is essential, so lessons begin with breathing control, embouchure stability, finger accuracy, tone balance, articulation, and rhythm awareness. All lessons are taught using clear explanations and practical exercises.
Creativity is encouraged through musical exploration, improvisation exercises, and learning songs that interest the student. As a mentor, I guide students with patience, offering encouragement and constructive feedback to build confidence and discipline.
Critical thinking is developed by helping students analyze their playing, recognize mistakes, and apply corrections independently. Accountability is ensured through clear practice goals, regular assessments, and continuous progress tracking. Along with Saxophone instruction, I also teach Music Theory, Ear Training, Rhythm Exercises, and Scale Practice.
