About Leila
I’m a First Class Computer Science graduate from the University of Birmingham with hands-on experience tutoring Science and Maths at KS3 and GCSE levels. I currently work as a Science Tutor, where I deliver personalised 1:1 and small group lessons to students with a range of academic abilities and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. I take pride in creating a calm, encouraging learning environment where students feel supported and motivated to improve. My lessons are tailored to each individual’s learning style and paced to build confidence while ensuring real understanding of key concepts. Whether a student is preparing for exams, catching up, or looking to excel, I bring structure, patience, and proven teaching strategies to every session. With a strong academic background and a genuine passion for helping others succeed, I’m committed to helping each student reach their full potential.

As a Computer Science graduate with experience supporting KS3 and GCSE students, I take a personalised, student-centred approach to tutoring. I focus on building strong foundational understanding by breaking down complex topics into manageable parts, using real-life examples to make lessons more relatable and engaging. For students with additional needs, such as those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, I adapt my teaching style to suit individual learning preferences by using visual aids, step-by-step guidance, and positive reinforcement to build confidence and encourage progress. Each lesson typically lasts 60 minutes, although this can be adjusted based on the student's focus and needs. Sessions are structured but flexible, often beginning with a review of previous topics, followed by focused instruction on current material, and ending with practice problems or revision strategies. I have experience tutoring KS3 and GCSE Science and Maths, and have worked 1:1 and in small groups with students aged 11 to 16. My goal is always to create a supportive and calm learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing at their own pace.
