About Ivan

Hi! I am an accomplished concert pianist and an ABRSM scholar with an established reputation in Scotland and wider UK. Throughout my teaching career, I have managed to prepare students for various exam boards (ABRSM, Trinity and etc.) to the highest level, as well as to inspire the beginners to fall in love with the beautiful craft of piano playing.

Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, I design engaging lessons that blend fundamental techniques with creative exploration. Each session typically lasts around 60 to 90 minutes, providing ample time for instruction, practice, and feedback. With over 7 years of experience teaching piano and a strong background in performance and compositional practice, I bring both expertise and enthusiasm to every lesson. My students range from young beginners to adults, spanning all levels of proficiency. Whether you're embarking on your musical journey or seeking to hone your craft, my lessons offer a supportive and enriching environment to cultivate your passion for piano. Ivan is a fantastic tutor, as he is easy going and really knowledgeable. He is very accessible and has a way of making difficult things, easy to understand. He speaks clearly and slowly and is very patient without being patronising. I find social things like this, can be quite scary. But Ivan instantly put me at ease, and we had a great time. I highly recommend Ivan, he is the epic sax guy!
