About Polina
I am a classically trained pianist and piano tutor with a strong academic background and international performance experience. I graduated with honors from the Kosenko Music School in Kyiv, where I received a thorough classical education in piano performance, technique, and music theory. My training is grounded in a rigorous academic tradition that emphasizes technical precision, musical understanding, and disciplined practice. I am a laureate of several international music competitions, and in July 2025 I was awarded 1st Prize at the 3rd Biennial Newport Virtuosi International Music Competition (USA). This experience reflects both my technical level and my ability to perform and prepare at a professional standard. As a tutor, I approach teaching with seriousness, clarity, and respect for each student. I value correct technique, thoughtful musical work, and steady, well-structured progress. My goal is to provide students with reliable guidance, a strong technical foundation, and the confidence to develop independently at the piano.

Teaching method and techniques A key part of my teaching is developing correct touch and key attack. I teach students how to use weight, control, and precision in pressing the keys to produce a free, rich, and controlled sound. I also focus on proper technical principles for virtuosic playing, including: correct hand position and arm use; coordination, finger independence, and relaxation. Students learn not only what to play, but how and why technical choices lead to musical freedom. Typical lesson structure A typical lesson includes: targeted technical work (touch, articulation, scales, exercises), detailed repertoire study with attention to technique and musical meaning, analysis of phrasing, structure, and stylistic context, guidance on effective and intelligent home practice. Each lesson is adapted to the student's level, pace, and long-term goals. What sets me apart What sets me apart as a tutor is my strong classical education, international competition experience, and my ability to explain complex technical concepts in a clear and practical way. I combine technical discipline with musical understanding, helping students develop confidence and control at the piano.
