About Adiba
I'm a journalist turned content marketer with rigorous training in storytelling, navigating BOTH on-paper and on-ground realities that result in an effective story flow.
I've often been a writing mentor to young and mature writers, writing to submit their best selves for an opportunity.

I have mentored young media students at University and also worked as a peer tutor to assist ESL and mature writers with their writing goals, essays and academic writing.
My expertise is writing creatively while adhering to norms and restrictions - like essay word limits, one-page cover letters, grant proposals, artist statements, project blurb/synopsis.
I believe that there's a writer in every one of us, and in our writing voice lies our personal brand. It's simply a matter of writing a few honest pages to unlock who we are in our way with words.
Session Requirement:
A rough draft that the writer's already working on.
Part A: Why and what are we writing?
A read-through together, to understand the why and the what. (10 min)
Part B: Who must read this?
A quick check-in about who the writer wishes to engage, and what they wish to sound like to catch the attention of this ideal reader. We can briefly look at other writing to see take notes from strategies of other writers. (10 min)
Part C: A sturdy structure.
Come back to the rough draft, talk about its structure. Recognize a flow that the draft can follow. Recognize the touch points that matter most, keeping in mind any defined restrictions. (15 min)
Part D: Debrief to note actionables
Make notes on all we discussed and turn them into a list of next steps. This gives the writer all they need to get back to the task of writing.
In closing:
A second (and sometimes a third) session is booked for a check-in. For a longer piece of writing, we determine how the writer would wish to pace their progress, and if they have a looming deadline to honour.
