My lessons are geared towards students who want to improve their overall writing in the long term and don't want to rely on a tutor. I like to start off my sessions with a self-assessment by the student on what they think they need to work on. Regardless of whether it's an essay or a report, I start off by reading their introduction, the first paragraph, and the conclusion.
I make it a point to make REAL learning happen by adopting scientifically proven methods of teaching. To be more specific, I carefully crafted lesson plans with varying weightage on comprehension, reading speed and efficiency, writing skills, etc., and drive the point home via reinforcement through practice.
I teach with an understanding that my students each come from a different background; all of us have had different experiences and opportunities in our lives, and a variety of teaching styles has shaped our understanding -- or lack of understanding. I aim to find out which learning conditions teaching styles are best for my students.
With each student, I evaluate their goals and their level before we begin. Many students require assistance with various aspects of academic writing and my methods are designed to create clarity, impact and comprehension. Then, through this methodology, the students can begin to gain confidence in all aspects of their writing and I am there to coach you, every step of the way.
I teach according to what empirically worked best for me in challenging situations, but my teaching ethos largely depends on the student's strengths, needs, and goals. It is in my best interest to teach an individual how to be self-sufficient and self-motivated.
I use the subject matter that most interests my students to teach them about the power of well written arguements and literature. I believe that inspiring students to get excited about the material and showing them the real world implications of the work is the best way to teach.
I have many years experience working with students of all ages! I usually teach at libraries such as Kensington or Mount Pleasant in Vancouver, BC. Learning is better when it is enjoyable and I believe in teaching to the individual's learning style.
My teaching methods include group discussions, giving model lesson plans and stress on pronunciation, sentence making , grammar and to teach my students all four skills related to the subject like reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.
I believe that language skills can be improved majorly through conversations and reading. I was encouraged by my parents to read a lot as a child, and I noticed how much I was able to improve my writing skills and vocabulary. I will engage students in conversations and provide reading materials so that we can analyse and understand words and sentences that may be difficult to comprehend.
My teaching method is learner centric and concept based.
I use a lot of hands-on assignments. I believe the best way to learn is by doing it wrong, understanding why, and trying it again. Editing the work of others is also a great way to learn in groups, while editing your own work helps individual students learn. And above all else, a love of language and writing makes every lesson fun.
I offer a variety of services, tailoring my methodology to the needs of the pupil. In addition to my experiences as a student of English, under many different systems of educations, I also have experience of the creative side, having been employed as a writer and an actor. As a result, I am skilled at navigating the connection between a piece of text and its audience.
I base my classes on the individual learner! I like to get to know the student's objectives for their lessons and style before I start to construct my lessons. With my K-12 students, there exists a large range of comprehension. Some are visual, others are experiential, and still some absorb the information best when I speak directly to them.
My teaching methods are typically intended for elementary and high school learners. It includes demonstration, easy to learn methods of teaching-learning process, interactive games, practice test, knowledge test, which are highly recommended for students with individual differences. I am a very approachable and patient teacher.
Along with making an accurate diagnosis of my student's needs, followed by detailed planning on how to reach goals, I offer the following: 1. Detailed essay writing practice with in-depth details on APA/MLA formats for referencing, in-text citation, research, essay structures, grammar, organization, etc. 2. Most recent (actual) exams.
I don't have any particular way of teaching method, I usually go by checking the comfortability of the trainee or student and start accordingly. I am very flexible and instinctive in my approach. This attribute of mine make people comfortable in learning from me. I am very friendly and treat everyone as equal to me.
I am knowledgeable in grammar, writing, vocabulary & conversation skills. I base my lessons around the students needs. I am kind, patient with a sense of humour and I encourage students to be active learners rather than letting me do all the conversation.
My teaching methods are completely tailored to the student's needs and interests. I strongly encourage the use of multiple mediums of learning a language such as television, music, podcasts, books etc. because I believe that learning should be enjoyable, modern and practical.
I structure my classes around the needs of the students using creativity, imagination and heart. I can suggest tools to use to make learning easier.
My classes all depend on the development you are looking for. I am happy to have a chat about ways to approach a news story, essay or creative story/ article. If editing is needed before handing up a final piece of work, I add comments and send the work back so you can review what needs improving. I love spending time helping people with different types of writing.
I want my students to find a love for reading and writing. I teach within their zone of proximal development so that they get just enough challenge. With readers and writers, I start by building rapport. Next I will do a few assessments to see where they are at developmentally.
I am more of a democratic and authoritative teacher which I believe is effective in almost a decade of teaching. As much as possible, I incorporate fun in learning because I could see that it assisted the learning of my students with ease and comfort.
I base my lessons on your skill-level, proficiency and goals. I use a lot of fun games to supplement my language lessons.
I tailor my lesson plans to the wants and needs of the student. My goal is to foster a love of learning in students by helping gain the skill sets and confidence to conquer any challenges presented to them. Not only can I supplement course material, but I can also offer prepare enrichment content if requested.
My teaching methods are practical and realistic. More you learning and less me talking. I’ll be available 24/7 for any queries and information.
I base my methods more on interaction rather than theory, because I believe there is no better way to learn a language than through conversation. Of course, there will be theory as well, ensuring all round development.
My teaching methods respond to student interest and need. I’m particularly skilled at editing academic writing, and I develop speaking skills through discussion focused on student interest.
I like to meet students where they are at in their academic development, flexibly coaching, supporting, and mentoring them towards success.
Explore students' needs/aspirations. Build up their foundation skills. Treat students as friends. Encourage critical thinking. Homework assignments to gauge progress.
Having a degree in philosophy helps me more in understanding my students' needs and the kind of life they want to pursue. Therefore, I can create topics specially structured for them (depends one-on-one tutorial or group class).
