My lessons are geared towards students who want to improve their overall writing in the long term and don't want to rely on a tutor. I like to start off my sessions with a self-assessment by the student on what they think they need to work on. Regardless of whether it's an essay or a report, I start off by reading their introduction, the first paragraph, and the conclusion.
Within a one or two-hour session, I will give you constructive feedback on your writing, going through your essay draft sentence-by-sentence. We will work on content and style to develop your most effective arguments. I will not write your essay for you. I will train you to succeed with your own words and ideas. I want you to learn how to succeed through your own work.
My teaching methods begin with patience and precision - every individual learns a different way and at a different pace. This style must first be identified based on the relative individual and then applied based on their needs.
My teaching methods often depend upon how much guidance my students need to help them reach their learning goals. For most of my lessons, I employ the Exploratory Strategy, because it gives my students agency over their own learning.
With each student, I evaluate their goals and their level before we begin. Many students require assistance with various aspects of academic writing and my methods are designed to create clarity, impact and comprehension. Then, through this methodology, the students can begin to gain confidence in all aspects of their writing and I am there to coach you, every step of the way.
My teaching method is based on critical thinking, and using various strategies to understand a concept. I also encourage practice and feedback at all times. I like to evaluate how a student may learn best and cater to those needs.
As a homeschool educator, I personally like to take my time with each student going over the subject matter so that he or she can become sufficient in probably formatting an essay in APA by providing 101 education via the essential learning blocks.
I teach according to what empirically worked best for me in challenging situations, but my teaching ethos largely depends on the student's strengths, needs, and goals. It is in my best interest to teach an individual how to be self-sufficient and self-motivated.
I believe that language skills can be improved majorly through conversations and reading. I was encouraged by my parents to read a lot as a child, and I noticed how much I was able to improve my writing skills and vocabulary. I will engage students in conversations and provide reading materials so that we can analyse and understand words and sentences that may be difficult to comprehend.
I offer a variety of services, tailoring my methodology to the needs of the pupil. In addition to my experiences as a student of English, under many different systems of educations, I also have experience of the creative side, having been employed as a writer and an actor. As a result, I am skilled at navigating the connection between a piece of text and its audience.
I base my classes on the individual learner! I like to get to know the student's objectives for their lessons and style before I start to construct my lessons. With my K-12 students, there exists a large range of comprehension. Some are visual, others are experiential, and still some absorb the information best when I speak directly to them.
I don't have any particular way of teaching method, I usually go by checking the comfortability of the trainee or student and start accordingly. I am very flexible and instinctive in my approach. This attribute of mine make people comfortable in learning from me. I am very friendly and treat everyone as equal to me.
I am knowledgeable in grammar, writing, vocabulary & conversation skills. I base my lessons around the students needs. I am kind, patient with a sense of humour and I encourage students to be active learners rather than letting me do all the conversation.
My teaching methods are completely tailored to the student's needs and interests. I strongly encourage the use of multiple mediums of learning a language such as television, music, podcasts, books etc. because I believe that learning should be enjoyable, modern and practical.
My classes all depend on the development you are looking for. I am happy to have a chat about ways to approach a news story, essay or creative story/ article. If editing is needed before handing up a final piece of work, I add comments and send the work back so you can review what needs improving. I love spending time helping people with different types of writing.
I want my students to find a love for reading and writing. I teach within their zone of proximal development so that they get just enough challenge. With readers and writers, I start by building rapport. Next I will do a few assessments to see where they are at developmentally.
I base my lessons on your skill-level, proficiency and goals. I use a lot of fun games to supplement my language lessons.
I tailor my lesson plans to the wants and needs of the student. My goal is to foster a love of learning in students by helping gain the skill sets and confidence to conquer any challenges presented to them. Not only can I supplement course material, but I can also offer prepare enrichment content if requested.
I recently graduated from Westminster High School and I am expecting to go to Golden West college this fall as I've already been accepted and I'm going to sign up for classes June 28th. I hope to study something useful.
My teaching methods are practical and realistic. More you learning and less me talking. I’ll be available 24/7 for any queries and information.
Explore students' needs/aspirations. Build up their foundation skills. Treat students as friends. Encourage critical thinking. Homework assignments to gauge progress.
Having a degree in philosophy helps me more in understanding my students' needs and the kind of life they want to pursue. Therefore, I can create topics specially structured for them (depends one-on-one tutorial or group class).
I work closely with students and clients to help them draft an essay, assignment for school, personal statement, or CV etc. Through Skype and Google docs, we collaborate on making writing into a polished and professional piece of work. Please contact me for references.
I prefer to teach one-on-one. Having planned and conducted tutorials for groups of 20-25, I find that doing face-to-face work lets me understand my students' needs in a much more efficient manner. I also prefer to work via Skype/online, mostly due to travel constraints, though I'd be willing to negotiate this based on transport/distance. My classes are quite structured, but not rigid.
I believe that every individual learns differently and I specialize and differentiated instructions to meet these various needs. I also believe in creating a safe and healthy learning environment for students to feel comfortable being vulnerable and honest on their learning continuum. This is important to me as it helps me support my students in a more holistic and rounded way.
I believe that everyone can excel in and enjoy their English classes! As someone who went through the BC school system, I understand that English classes can be pretty dry, but I also know that reading and writing can be easily tailored to individual students' interests. I think patience and support are essential to effective teaching.
If you bring me a text, I will really consider how it could be improved and give you clear explanations of how a reader would think reading your text as well as pointers on technical aspects like sentence structure.
I am a creative and passionate teacher with high expectations for and of my students. My lessons are structured holistically and follow the three part structure, with Blooms Taxonomy of learning embedded throughout. Experienced with UK/US/Canada university admissions.
My teaching methods include: - Analysing and understanding Job postings and descriptions - Expanding vocabulary for resume and cover letters - Creating appropriate and personalized resumes and cover letters My aim is to equip students with the necessary skills to gain confidence and independence.
Creating unique lesson plans for my students and utilizing my library of resources is how I best help my learners. I take the time to get to know my students and their intended goals. Afterwards, I will develop a road map that will allow you to achieve your goals and see the steps needed to get there.
