About Emelin

As a math tutor, I am strict with students about maintaining their attention on the matter being taught. Students come to me to learn, and that is what I seek to help them with. I provide short breaks and allow students to attend to private issues during tutoring sessions when necessary, but when it is time to learn, we learn. As a person that asks a lot of questions when attempting to understand a topic, I welcome the student to ask as many questions as they wish. It shows that they want to learn, and I love to see that. Curiosity is what empowers learning, and I seek to satisfy the curiosity of students through utilizing my experiences as a student and a teacher.

About the lesson

My teaching techniques are suitable for novices to individuals who simply need some reinforcement in a material. I typically open a tutoring session by answering any questions that the student may have on a topic related to what we are learning, and then proceed with a lesson that a student expressed interest in learning about prior to starting the tutoring session. I walk the student through example problems and strategies they can use to complete example problems, and I provide example problems for the student to complete on their own. Additionally, depending on the needs of the student, I may provide additional assignments or homework for the student to complete outside of a tutoring session in order to reinforce the lesson taught. The student is welcome to return to me the next tutoring session or reach out to me via email or text with any questions they may have with the additional assignments that I provide.
