About Kaitlyn
I have been a dancer since the age of three and it is one of the major passions in my life. I want to eventually open my own studio and have wanted to since I started dancing. I have taken ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, modern, hip-hop, and acrobatics and have taught all of these styles to others in the past. I am currently double-majoring in Dance and Elementary Education major at Ball State University and in my free time, I work at my old dance studio to help teach 3-6 year olds ballet and acrobatics, which I have been doing for the past six years. I also am a substitute from time to time and teach 7-11 year olds tap and jazz. I have a lot of experience with color guard as well, having choreographed and taught for a total of three years.

Over time, I have been able to find ways which work best for different students. I believe that every student has a different way of learning that is best for them and I have always been able to implement these different strategies while I am teaching. I have worked with kids from all across the spectrum of capabilities to grow and improve as a dancer, no matter what that may look like for specific students and I love to see the love for dance grow as the dancer becomes more confident with the style that they are learning. My favorite thing to do is create combinations for the dancers to learn and then allowing them to make their own twist on the dance because I believe that if you’re not having fun, then you’re not doing it right!
