About Lauren

Last year I lived in Paris for 11 months, working as an Au Pair. I achieved an A* in French A Level before arriving in France and my language skills improved invaluable; giving me communication skills, literary understanding and a new appreciation for French culture. Living in France took my language skills to the equivalent of DALF C1, giving me all the tools necessary to tutor French to a very high standard.

I am currently studying History at the University of Bristol and I am enjoying it immensely. My passion for the subject translates directly into my tutoring, as I'm committed to helping other people who would like to study this fascinating subject. I have been scoring consistently highly in my university essays, which reflects my abilities that helped me achieve an A at A Level and a 9 at GCSE.

Taking English Literature at A Level was a joy that I would like to help others appreciate, too. I believe it is a subject that is under-appreciated in its difficulty and in finding the hoops that need to be jumped through in order to achieve, as I did, an A*. The amount of work that I put into my revision and developing my understanding, essay writing skills and analytic abilities has given me the perfect tools to tutor this subject at GCSE and A Level.

About the lesson

I confidently teach students to understand new information, using the current subject textbooks, my own notes and essays that helped me achieve highly during exams. I am also happy to help guide revision, using techniques such as spaced repetition, blurting and exam style questions. I give accurate, current and helpful feedback and will share important tips and tricks that I picked up along the way. Language acquisition, vocabulary memorisation and essay writing in both French and English are my specialities and I'm excited to help improve these vital skills.

I am also able to help with CV and personal statement writing, as it was just 3 years ago that I was in that position! I was given offers by the likes of UCL, University of Bristol/Glasgow/Exeter and I would love to help you/your child achieve the same
