About Syed Ayaan Kamran

Hello, I’m Syed Ayaan Kamran

I’m a Cyber Security student at the University of Warwick, and I recently completed my A-levels with grades of A in Maths, Physics and Computer Science. My A-level Computer Science project, a web application built in Python, was awarded 69 out of 75.

I have worked as a teaching assistant at Turnfurlong Junior School, where I supported Year 5 pupils with maths and gave teachers feedback on the topics each pupil found difficult. I have also done private GCSE tutoring. These experiences taught me how to explain ideas clearly and how to build confidence in students who feel unsure of their ability.

I take tutoring seriously. I prepare for every lesson, arrive on time, and tailor each session to the student’s current level and goals. My aim is simple: to help you understand the subject properly, so you feel confident in lessons, homework and exams.

I would be glad to help, whether you are preparing for GCSE or A-level Maths or Computer Science, or need extra support at primary level.

About the lesson

My lessons will be focused on the student's current level, and we will start from where you are. In the first lesson we work out what you already know and where you're stuck, so we don't waste time on things you've mastered. I break topics into small steps and use examples, diagrams and worked problems, so the method makes sense and you can apply it to questions you haven't seen before. You do most of the thinking. I give you questions to try, then we go through them together and look at the mistakes, because that's where most of the learning happens. For computer science and programming, we write and debug real code in Python, so concepts like loops, functions and data structures stick. I've worked as a teaching assistant supporting Year 5 maths, so I know how to explain things simply and encourage students who think they're "bad at maths". A typical lesson would last an hour, giving plenty of time to cover topics without a student getting bored or losing focus. Shorter or longer lessons can be done on request. I recently completed my A-levels, achieving 3 A's in Maths, Computer Science and Physics, and am undertaking a BSc in Cyber Security at the University of Warwick. I have taught at Turnfurlong Junior School as a teaching assistant to Year 5 pupils in maths especially, so I have experience in teaching, and did some private GCSE tutoring to people. My lessons are for anyone doing Maths or Computer Science GCSE or A-level, or anyone looking for tutoring for younger years such as KS2 who are looking for extra maths support.
