About Santiago
Hi, my name is Santiago. I am a graduate from the University of Notre Dame, with degrees in mechanical engineering and in music performance in piano. I am passionate about learning, and I love sharing what I know with others. Being at Notre Dame gave me the opportunity to thrive with what I knew but more often to struggle like I never had before, which only strengthened my appreciation for learning. Not only is it rewarding, but you come to realize how surreal it can be to suddenly know things you previously did not. I hope to be able to connect this passion with students, and will work hard to remain flexible in my teaching methods to accommodate different types of learners. Like with anything, the key to learning is playing to your strengths.

Hi, my name is Santiago and I love teaching. My approach is rooted in an understanding of the subject, from which practical applications will naturally follow. Although a deep comprehension of a topic is difficult to speed through, a basic appreciation of what it is we are doing can go a long way. A typical lesson will consist of a two-end discussion where we delve into what we are trying to accomplish, as well as any questions either of us may have. My time at Notre Dame gave me a clear view of how to express my thoughts to provide answers, but more importantly, I learned how to interpret questions students have, myself often being the student asking something. A student will never understand an answer unless the educator first understands the question. After the student is satisfied with their level of insight on the topic, we can more confidently approach specific problems, now knowing a little about how they work
