About Allison

I have been dancing and performing since I was a small child and have trained in a multitude of genres under the guidance of well-renowned dance artists including classical and contemporary ballet, modern, jazz, tap, hip-hop, and a variety of social and cultural dance. I hold a New York State K-12 teaching certification in Dance and earned a BFA in Dance Performance and Choreography and an MA in Dance Education. I have been teaching for over 10 years ranging from preschool and elementary school-aged children to adults. Currently, I am the dance teacher and musical director at a public middle school in NYC.

About the lesson

As a dance educator, I believe that any student can achieve anything they commit to if they are surrounded by an enriching and supportive environment. Dance and movement can be intimidating, that is why I celebrate and meet students where they are at while creating goal centered lessons that will get you where you want to be and providing opportunities for new explorations and discoveries about oneself.

Each lesson is designed specifically for the student and their needs. Depending on the overall goal for the students, lessons can include conditioning the body for specific movement, learning and working on specific skills, learning and working out choreography, and much more.

I teach all ages and abilities and can accommodate and assist in a wide range of goals one might have from a dance tutor.
