About Dr Deya
I have over 25 years of training experience in various forms of Dance in organisations and education institutes like DPS Vasant Kunj, Lady Irwin, Miranda House and JNU.
I have 7 years of experience in Indian Contemporary, 4 years of Jazz and Bollywood, for DanceworX and SDIPA, resp. I have also done extensive training workshops on Salsa from Salsa Indian, Odissi and Hip-Hop. I have worked with NSD to showcase dance theatre and with Department of Science and Technology to showcase Environmental issues through Dance & Theatre.
Dancing is the best way to not just stay fit but happy!!

About the lesson

Each class is divided into 4 Parts
1. Generic warm-up, followed by a style-specific warm-up
2. Preparatory exercises to introduce and break down stylistic movement patterns, actions (alignment and technical concepts)
3. Progressive exercises that specifically address dancers' physical capacities for that style (for example, the development of required strength and flexibility)
4. Learning to dance: combinations of movements that move through space, using different orientations, levels, speeds, intensities and readiness for performance of the style in any given space and on any music.
Generic warm-up, followed by a style-specific warm-up. Preparatory exercises to introduce the style and style specific movement patterns, actions and expressions.
