About Valentina

I have spent the last 10 years traveling around the world a lot for work. This allowed me to perfect my knowledge of English, both on a technical-professional and conversational level. Certifications: TOEFL and GRE (University Level). I am evaluating a scholarship proposal to deepen my preparation in an American university.

About the lesson

I believe that the most authentic, lasting and profound learning can take place only when the student is able to fully immerse himself in the subject, to become passionate about it, to live it. For this I am a firm supporter of learning by doing: while the first part of learning a language should in my opinion focus on learning the grammatical bases of the same, subsequently the role of the teacher should go to change in order to discover the passions and interests of the student and suggest suitable and personalized tools to ignite and nurture his interest in studying. An example: Mario has an immense passion for horses, Lisa for football. Both are studying English. After having studied the grammar well, I would modify and differentiate their path, suggesting to Mario the vision, for example, of films in English with difficulties of increasing understanding (Spirit - wild horse; War Horse; The man who whispered to horses). ..) while I would recommend Lisa to see some football matches or to read some English newspapers. I would then use these experiences to make them exercise on the important aspects of the language (written and oral comprehension, writing skills, grammatical, analytical ...) so as to involve not only their mind, but their whole being, relying on their passions and emotions.
