My teaching methods are based on a creative learning approach. I do a quick check-in with the student and review the homework or where we last left off. If there are any questions or areas of confusion, I pinpoint the issue and we can make a song about it perhaps or go about learning the subject matter in a different way that makes more sense to the student and is taught in a way that is encouraging and fun for the student.
My acting classes are based on the teachings of Stanislavsky and Chekhov , and Scott Swan. Students who are interested in digging into finding a sense of the 'real' and reacting naturally in fantastical situations, would greatly benefit from my classes. I like to help actors delve into the text and be the best physical and mental storyteller that they can be.
I am BA graduate from the University of Alberta, majoring in Drama and Theatre. I also received my TESL certification from Inlingua Victoria, a language school out of Victoria, BC. I am a singer-songwriter/musician, so I love to bring music into the classroom and help make learning fun.
I specialize in teaching Drama to ages 6 to adult - improv, comedy, dramatic acting, scene study, script work, musical theatre, ESL from youth to adult, and English/Language Arts from elementary school to University/College/Master's Degree editing and proofreading.
