About Rebecca
I am a friendly, first year English Literature student studying at Durham University. I have previously assisted my school English teacher with her lessons, and loved to see how I could use my knowledge to help students really enjoy the subject! Therefore, I want to continue to help students understand and enjoy literature in order for them to meet their full potential. I achieved all A*/9 - A/7 in my GCSE qualifications (with a 9 in English Language and Literature), and three A*s at A-Level (including English Literature).

I aim to create a friendly and encouraging learning environment to allow students to feel comfortable in expressing their opinions and asking questions. I intend for students to help shape their own tutoring experience by asking what they wish to cover in sessions, and tailoring my tutoring accordingly. I would aim to ensure comprehensive understanding of a text and its relevant themes, as well as how to approach various forms of literature (novels, plays, poetry etc.). Important to any school-level examination is an understanding of how to tackle the wording and assessment objectives of exam questions, and so I would also work with students to encourage them to apply their knowledge of the text to the exam requirements. Ultimately, I recognise that every student is unique both in personality and in learning style, and firmly intend to help each individual feel proud of their work and achieve the very best of their ability.
