About Oliver
I’ve just graduated with a Masters degree First Class in physics from Durham University and have been offering periodic maths and physics tutoring over the last five years. During this time I’ve also worked in theoretical particle physics with DESY in Hamburg and in technology risk with PwC Edinburgh. I’ve always held education in high regard, achieving straight A*s in Maths, Physics and Chemistry A-Levels and 7 A grades at AS level. I also achieved above 80% in first and second year university examinations. I really enjoy passing on the skills I’ve picked up over these years through tutoring, to share a firm foundation in physical sciences and maths for any future studies.

I primarily tutor to support A-Level and GCSE Physics, Maths and Chemistry courses covered in UK schools. With school closures due to Covid-19 this is more vital than ever and it is expected that more content may need to be covered to make up for lack of formal teaching time. Each student learns best differently, so I always organise sessions based on what the student is looking for or what seems to work most effectively. Some students want most help with specific questions they come across, others like topics being re-explained in clearer terms – all approaches are valid and are done with understanding of the challenge of the material, having learned it myself not many years ago.
