About Heidi
I’ve been an educator for over 20 years, with 14 of those years spent as an elementary classroom teacher. Currently, I teach students in grades 2–12 privately, both online and in person. During my classroom years, I discovered a deep passion for teaching reading and writing. But I also noticed that some students’ needs were not being fully met because of learning difficulties like dyslexia and dysgraphia. I wanted to do more to help those students who weren’t making the progress they deserved. This desire led me back to school to earn my Master’s in Education and become a certified reading specialist. During my studies, I was introduced to the Wilson Reading System, and I was impressed by how effectively it helped students with dyslexia improve their skills and confidence. That experience inspired me to pursue further training, and I became a Certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner. Today, I work with students both online and in person, using this gold-standard, research-based structured literacy program to provide specialized, intensive instruction tailored to each child’s needs. I am also currently advancing my professional expertise by working toward my Dyslexia Therapist licensure, which will enable me to serve my students even more effectively. I am so thankful to do this important work—helping students build strong reading and writing skills, and supporting families on their journey to academic success.
