About Hena
Hi, I’m Hena! I’m an educator and researcher with a Master’s in Pharmaceutical Science and a Bachelor’s in Biology and Humanities. Having experienced the anxiety that can come with tackling challenging topics, I understand how intimidating learning something new can feel. This understanding inspires my approach to teaching and communication—fostering a supportive environment where curiosity and growth thrive. I’ve worked as a teacher and summer camp counselor, guiding students from pre-K to high school in subjects like English, science, and math. These experiences taught me the importance of creativity and adaptability in making learning engaging and effective. In my current role as a communications officer at MAPS (Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies), I transform complex scientific ideas into accessible and engaging content, helping to connect communities with meaningful information. I’m passionate about advancing mental health research, particularly in dissociation and harm reduction. Whether through education, communication, or advocacy, I aim to empower others to overcome challenges and reach their potential.
