About Alea

Hi! My name is Alea and I believe that tutoring is much more than just learning about a topic. I strive to provide guidance, mentorship, and positive reinforcement to learners, empowering them to overcome challenges and build self-confidence. I do this by building relationships, establishing a collaborative environment, and meeting students where they are at.

Throughout university and teaching, I have developed a wide range of strategies tailored to meet each student's unique needs and abilities.

I am so excited to learn together and meet your learning goals!

About the lesson

I place a high value on building positive relationships with students to contribute to their self-agency, well-being, and identity. This allows me to understand them better as learners so that I can meet their diverse learning needs and communicate to every individual that they can be successful.

A typical lesson would be influenced by what each learner needs. I adapt to each individual's needs by monitoring progress and learning through informal observations to adjust instructional approaches. This may include resources the client brings forward or resources of my own. I use a collaborative approach with the individual and parents to ensure that I meet expectations.

I have the most experience with kindergarten-grade 9, but I am also available to tutor any age if you think that my teaching approach would benefit your learning style and needs.
