I always try to plan my lessons to tap into my student's interests and motivation. Building a strong rapport with my students from early on sets me apart as a tutor. Personal connections that I build with my students are the backbone of my stories behind ups and downs of my teaching journey.
As for my typical lesson plan, I am flexible enough to gear my lesson plan and implementation towards student's motivation, learning style, and his/her daily concentration level. I start my lesson with something tangible such as reading books aloud or having a starter conversation about the topics that we will discuss and learn later on. Then I gradually introduce the topics by letting students take the ownership of their learning.
