Hey, I'm Nicole! I am a classically trained pianist, and I have been sharing my musical passion through the piano for over 17 years! I have completed RCM's Certification for Elementary Piano Teaching and have achieved high honours in RCM level 10. I have also completed Advanced Rudiments in Theory. I have been teaching piano for over 5 years and love working with children and getting them started on their musical journey!

I am a graduate of the University of Toronto. I completed my Honours Bachelor's of Science while doing a double major in Psychology and Music. I am currently completing my M.A. in Clinical Counselling and love bringing counselling techniques into my sessions to help students feel more engaged with the piano lesson!

About the lesson

I am a firm believer that each person has an inner musician waiting to express themself. I prioritize making my lessons engaging to keep students excited about learning the piano while also using the most efficient techniques to learn new skills. The first class is free, and I use it to conduct an assessment and see how proficient the student is in handling the piano. I then create SMART short and long-term goals to keep the student on track. I will also give weekly development updates. I am happy to teach students from any preferred method book and go through the RCM examinations or simply learn new music for fun! I want to ensure that your child will enjoy learning piano and gain a passion for music.

My money has never been more well spent in an education setting. Nicole helped my children age 8 and 10 learn the piano, but also genuinely enjoy playing. They have progressed so much in the past 2 years and are still passionate and excited for lessons with nicole. Other piano teachers will charge more and perform worse, nicole will charge a modest amount and you will see the results as your Children, or even you, start to see results quickly because she teaches you how to teach yourself.

Details

Each 1-hour class at my home studio is $45. I only offer classes at my home studio, as students get the most out of all the teaching materials available there.

I book classes with students based on a monthly cycle and charge for classes monthly.

Discounted packages for in-person studio classes are available: $220 for 5 hours and $430 for 10 hours.

Online lessons are $40 per hour; however, they are not preferable if in-person classes are possible.

I only go to a student's house in necessary circumstances and if my availability allows for it; in this case, there is an additional $5 charge for travel.

*Discounted packages only apply to in-person studio classes.

*I only accept students up to the age of 16
