About ROLAND
My name is Roland Percival I have had over thirty years’ experience teaching electronics and technology.
I’m passionate about electronics, and all forms of engineering technology.
My infectious enthusiasm allows me to inspire the exceptionally able learners whilst helping to develop learners who are less confident in their ability.
I have demonstrated this as a member of Bolton Sixth Form College. At Bolton sixth form college I taught electronics both at A level, and AS level. I was responsible for the student’s coursework assessment including the 3D project. As a result of my efforts all of my students were successful in gaining their A level electronics qualification.

I like to take my students on a journey from the known to the unknown. I like to back my electronics theory up with practical investigations on breadboards or circuit simulation.
The typical length of my lessons is 50 minutes, and they all build on what went before in the previous lesson.
To support this, I have both academic qualifications and “real life” experience, including an Engineering degree, a HND in electronics, and a PGCE qualification. I have sustained experience in the education sectors of further education, secondary schools, and sixth form colleges.
I can pitch my lessons from GCSE to A level ages 11-21.
