About Mason
Teaching the trumpet is more than my profession because it is an opportunity to inspire confidence, creativity, and personal growth through music. I am committed to helping every student build strong technical skills while discovering the joy and satisfaction that comes from musical expression.
My teaching philosophy is based on patience, consistency, encouragement, and individualised instruction, allowing every student to learn at a comfortable pace without feeling overwhelmed. Whether you are learning the trumpet for personal enjoyment, preparing for school band performances, university auditions, music examinations, competitions, or professional opportunities, I design every lesson around your specific objectives.
Students begin by mastering essential fundamentals such as breathing techniques, posture, embouchure development, articulation, rhythm, tone production, scales, note reading, and finger coordination before progressing to flexibility training, endurance, phrasing, dynamics, sight reading, range development, ear training, improvisation, orchestral excerpts, jazz styles, ensemble playing, and solo performance.
I also teach effective practice routines, warm-up exercises, healthy playing habits, listening skills, and performance preparation to help students continue improving independently between lessons. I believe positive reinforcement and constructive feedback play an important role in successful learning, so I celebrate every achievement while helping students overcome challenges with confidence.
My goal is to develop musicians who are technically skilled, artistically expressive, and enthusiastic about continuing their musical journey for years to come.

I provide comprehensive trumpet lessons that combine technical excellence with creative musical development for learners of all ages. Every lesson is carefully structured according to the student's experience level, musical interests, and long-term objectives. Beginners develop a strong foundation through breathing exercises, embouchure control, articulation, posture, rhythm, note reading, scales, and tone production.
Intermediate students strengthen flexibility, endurance, phrasing, sight reading, dynamics, and musical expression, while advanced learners explore orchestral repertoire, jazz improvisation, solo literature, advanced articulation, ensemble performance, and audition preparation.
I also teach music theory, ear training, listening skills, and effective practice methods that enable students to become confident, independent musicians capable of performing with accuracy and expression.
