About Serena
I’ve been tutoring since I graduated college. I have found tutoring to be the most rewarding job because I get to build relationships with students and work with how their brain works to show them to beauty of mathematics and science. Tutoring remotely has allowed me to devote time to this job I love while staying home with my kids and growing my family’s woodworking/ 3D printing business.

I love working one-on-one with students because it allows me to apply my problems solving skills as an engineer to find specific ways to teach each individual. My lessons consist of assessing areas of confusion/ misunderstanding, then a brief explanation of the material, then a majority of the time is spent working through practice problems to improve student’s confidence. I also enjoy applying my training as a teacher of students with learning differences to teach my students helpful executive functions skills (i.e. organization, maintaining attention, task management, etc.) throughout my tutoring session.
