About Jonathan
I recently completed my undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering and am currently in graduate school for Electrical and Computer Engineering. Alongside my studies, I have always enjoyed breaking down technical material and explaining it in a way that actually makes sense, which is what drew me to tutoring in the first place.
I care about being reliable and easy to work with. I show up prepared, communicate clearly, and take time upfront to understand where a student is starting from so lessons are useful from the very first session. Whether you are looking to strengthen a foundation in math or physics, or just want a calm, patient introduction to coding, I am glad to help.

My approach starts from the idea that no two students learn the same way, so before diving into material I try to understand how a particular student actually thinks about a problem, not just what they're getting wrong. I emphasize understanding a concept deeply over memorizing a set of steps, because once the underlying idea clicks, the "how to solve it" part follows naturally and sticks around past the next test. A typical lesson starts with a quick check on what's clicking and what isn't, works through problems together with guiding questions rather than just demonstrations, and ends with the student solving something similar on their own. I pace lessons around the student rather than a fixed schedule. I'd rather slow down and get a concept solid than rush ahead.
I work with high school students in math and physics, from building a stronger foundation in core topics to prepping for tougher coursework, as well as students just starting out with coding who want a friendly introduction with no pressure.
