About Jordan

I have taken the SAT multiple times, scored 90s on university level finals, passed calculus 1 and 2 while still being a junior in high school, and scored fives on multiple AP tests. I have experience with learning and teaching alike and believe every child has the ability to learn anything, no matter how hard.

About the lesson

I have tutored students before in high school physics, helping them understand the content and be able to pass tests. The ages of those I tutor are around 14-18, high school age. For my teaching style, if its something a student is practicing, like math, I will watch the way they solve a problem, isolate the problem areas, and drill on those to get it right.

As an example, with SAT math, if they struggle with finding factors for factoring equations, we will go down to the root of factoring, which is multiplication of terms, belt out as many problems as possible, and retest until the student masters it. If it's something they have never learned before, I will explain it, then test their knowledge, then test it even further at a later date.

An example lesson plan would be an overview of a topic that is being taught, then quick review to see where the student is at. After ironing out the first few mistakes in the first session, later sessions and selfwork will involve repeated practice to never forget the content.

An example would be parts of the brain in AP Psychology. I can access a whiteboard to make all of this possible. I will help memorization by recommending tools and setting schedules for every part of the brain, then test for understanding in the session. Most of my tutoring has been in a classroom setting, with volunteering being a big part.

Jordan is someone I have known all my life. He is kind, trustworthy, and encouraging. He genuinely wants to help students succeed on the SAT. He has scored high on multiple SATs (1400+), so he is a very credible source. I helped Jordan prepare a presentation for the science fair, and he was willing to pour hours into practicing to make sure he got it right. If he can pour hours into a science fair presentation, he can do the same for his students. Jordan's teaching style is easy to understand. He can distill complex topics into simple explanations. All students should work with Jordan because he has a wealth of knowledge about how the SAT works and strategies that can help students be efficient and accurate on the exam.
